# Publishing your app under your own name

Want your app to appear in the App Store and Google Play under your own business name? Then you'll need your own Apple and Google Play developer accounts. So your launch isn't delayed while those accounts are being approved, we first launch your app under Authic's name. Once your own accounts are approved, we transfer the app to you. Below are the steps for each account. Stuck at any point? Get in touch with our team or your Customer Success Manager.

## Apple Developer account

**1. Make sure you have the following ready**

- **A D-U-N-S number:** you need this to enrol as an organisation. You can request one for free through Apple's D-U-N-S lookup. It must match your registered business name and address exactly.
- **A legal entity:** Apple only accepts registered organisations (such as a limited company), not sole traders.
- **Signing authority:** you need to be the owner or authorised to sign on behalf of the business.
- **A website and business email address** (recommended), for example name@yourbusiness.com rather than a Gmail address.
- **An Apple ID** that has never been used for a developer account.

**2. Create a new Apple ID**

Go to appleid.apple.com and create an Apple ID with an email address that has never been used for an Apple ID, ideally a business address. If a business address doesn't work, use a personal address that Apple doesn't know yet. Getting a message that the email address isn't available? Try a different email provider, an incognito window, or wait a few hours.

**3. Log in to Apple Developer**

Go to developer.apple.com, click Account, log in with your new Apple ID and accept the Apple Developer Agreement.

**4. Start enrolling as an organisation**

Go to developer.apple.com/programs/enroll, click Start Your Enrollment and choose Organization (not Individual). Enter your registered business name (exactly as it appears on your D-U-N-S number), your D-U-N-S number, website, phone number and business email address.

**5. Wait for verification**

Apple may call or email you to check that you're allowed to act on behalf of the business. Reply within a few days, or your enrolment may stall.

**6. Add developer@authic.io to your team**

This lets us manage and launch the app for you. Go to appstoreconnect.apple.com, log in and click Users and Access. Click + and enter: first name Authic, last name Developer, email developer@authic.io. Choose the Admin role, give access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles and click Invite.

## Google Play developer account

**1. Make sure you have the following ready**

- **A Google account:** ideally using your business email address.
- **A registered business:** needed if you want to publish under your business name.
- **A D-U-N-S number:** if you don't have one yet, start with the Apple enrolment to get one.
- **Your business details:** registered business name, website, address, phone number and business email address.

**2. Create a Google account (if you don't have one yet)**

Go to accounts.google.com/signup and choose For my business. Ideally, use your business email address. Note: one Google account can only have one Google Play developer profile.

**3. Sign up for the developer programme**

Go to play.google.com/console/signup, log in with your Google account and accept the terms.

**4. Pay the registration fee**

Registration is a one-off $25, paid by credit or debit card that supports international payments. Payment not going through? Try a different browser, an incognito window or another card.

**5. Choose the Organisation account type**

Choose Organization (not Individual) and enter your registered business name, business email address, website, phone number and Developer Name. The Developer Name is public on Google Play: use your business name, not your own name.

**6. Complete your developer profile**

Enter your support contact details (email and phone), your privacy policy URL, your country and, if applicable, your tax details.

**7. Add developer@authic.io to your team**

Go to play.google.com/console, click Users and permissions and then Invite new user. Enter developer@authic.io, choose the Admin role (full access) and click Send invitation. Once we've accepted the invitation, we can upload, publish and manage your app.
