Promoting your app

The more customers use your app, the more your loyalty programme delivers. Below are some tips for promoting your app at your location and online. Use the download links and your unique QR code from Marketing.

At your location

Your staff

Your team is your strongest channel, because word of mouth is always the most powerful marketing. Brief them so they can explain the app and its benefits to customers, for example at check-in, during a lesson or treatment, or when paying.

  • Explain what the app does: how customers earn and redeem points, and what they get when they sign up.
  • Mention it naturally: at the till or during a treatment, for example: "Did you know you can earn points for this with our app?"
  • Show them how: staff can demonstrate how to scan the QR code and download the app.
  • Prepare them for questions: "Is it free?" (yes) and "Will I get lots of messages?" (no, you decide what you receive).
  • Keep it top of mind: bring the app up regularly in team meetings and ask your team what customers are saying.
  • Make someone responsible: put one person on your team in charge of promoting the app and keeping everyone else on board.

Flyers

  • At the till or front desk: put an A5 flyer in a stand by the till, so every customer sees it while paying.
  • On tables: in a café or restaurant, guests at their table have time to scan the QR code.
  • In the waiting area: in a salon or clinic, customers often have a few minutes to spare, which is ideal for downloading the app.
  • With takeaway orders: pop a small flyer or QR code in the bag or box.

Posters

  • Put posters up by the entrance and in the window, at the till, in waiting areas or changing rooms, around the padel courts, or above your products or menu.
  • Use a clear headline with the benefit, for example "Earn free rewards!", and a big QR code that's easy to scan.
  • Keep the instructions short: 1. Scan the code. 2. Download the app. 3. Start earning points.
  • Mention a welcome gift, for example "Get 50 points when you sign up".
  • Put see-through A3 poster holders with the QR code on tables (for example in your café or bar area) and at reception, so customers can scan and sign up right away. The QR code automatically takes them to the App Store or Google Play.
  • Add a catchy hook to grab attention, for example: "Did you know? Visit [X] times and your next drink is on us!"

Online

Social media

  • Use short videos or carousels (30 seconds max) to show how to earn and redeem points, or how to sign up.
  • Promote your welcome or birthday gift, referral rewards or app-only offers.
  • Share members' experiences and reposts (with their permission).
  • Put the download link in your bio, pin a post about your app to the top of your profile and create a Story Highlight, for example "How it works".
  • Post about your loyalty programme consistently, ideally with one person on your team responsible for it.
  • A mix of stories and posts works best, for example an explainer of how it works with the benefits clearly laid out.

Email

  • Launch: announce your app with its benefits, the download buttons and your QR code. You can create this email yourself or, if you use our CRM, send it as a campaign under Campaigns.
  • Reminder: let customers who haven't joined yet know what they're missing out on, like their welcome gift.
  • Tips: share ways to earn more points and app-only offers.
  • Referrals: explain how members earn points by inviting friends.
  • Seasonal promotions: tie bonuses or limited-time rewards to a holiday or season.

Your website

  • Add a banner or pop-up to your homepage with the download buttons and QR code.
  • Create a dedicated page about your loyalty programme: how it works, what members earn, screenshots and the download links.
  • Remind visitors at checkout in your webshop that they can earn points with the app.
  • Write a blog post or news item about your app launch.

Influencers or advocates

Team up with local influencers, creators or loyal customers who fit your brand to promote the app, for example accounts with 1,000 to 10,000 followers. Have them show how they download the app, earn points and redeem a reward. Give them their own referral code, so you can see what it brings in, and agree on perks for them. For example, a discount you make available only to them once they reach 500 points or a set number of referrals.

A gift to get people signing up

Give customers a reason to sign up now rather than later. For example:

  • The first 50 people who sign up get a free gift, like a drink or a product.
  • A seasonal campaign, like Black Friday: everyone who signs up before the end of November gets extra points or a gift.

How to set it up:

  • A physical gift or a voucher code (like a drink, a product or a discount code): create a Gift reward (see Types of rewards), with a limited stock or a set period.
  • Extra points: create a welcome gift challenge under Challenges (see Types of challenges), which gives new members a points bonus when they sign up.
