# Manual points

**Manual points** lets you add points to members or deduct them manually. That's handy for activities that don't go through your booking system, like tournaments, events or workshops, or for correcting a mistake.

1. Under **Operation type**, choose **Addition** (add points) or **Deduction** (deduct points).
2. Enter the number of points:

- **Reward points (balance):** points the member can spend on rewards.
- **Tier XP:** points that count towards progress to a higher tier. You can give just reward points, just tier XP, or both.

1. Under **Activity name**, enter what the points are for, for example "Tournament 12 November" or "Workshop" (up to 60 characters).
2. Choose who gets the points:

- **Member:** an individual member. Search for the member in the top right by name, email address or ID.
- **Segment:** all members in a segment in one go.
- **Memberships:** all members with a particular membership.

1. Click **Apply**.

**Tip: giving points to everyone who attended an event**

Running a tournament, event or workshop and want to give all attendees points in one go? First create a static segment by uploading an Excel or CSV list of the attendees' email addresses (see Segments). Then, under Manual points, choose the **Segment** tab, select that segment and give everyone their points at once. No need to look up each member separately.
